Realized via neurotechnology, the immersive installation senses and reflects the audience’s state of mind through optical illusions. After the viewer dons a brainwave headset that measures her concentration and relaxation levels, she is invited to view the paintings on the walls. As her changing mental status illuminates the room with different light, the painted figures seem to emerge from the dark silhouettes and disappear into the dilapidated house and landfill.

Garbage is a mirror on our society, indicating our consumption patterns and generational differences. Once the world’s largest importer of “foreign trash,” China has boosted its manufacturing sector at the expense of the environment. By depicting the world's garbage problems, this work reflects on the issues of social inequality and environmental degradation.

这件互动作品融合脑神经技术，通过视错觉的形式，与观者的大脑活动实时互动。观者首先佩戴一个脑电传感器来量化她的注意力和放松度，当她观看四周的画作时，她不同的精神状态会改变灯光的颜色，从而使得画中人物时而从黑色剪影中浮现出来，时而隐没在一片废墟和垃圾之中。

垃圾就像一面镜子，映射出人们的消费方式和时代变迁。中国作为曾经世界最大的洋垃圾进口国，在提升制造业的同时面临着不可逆的环境问题，而这种现象背后隐含的是资本的迁移和剥削。
